Raptor Notes

Another slow, but steady day with one migrating raptor per hour.  A sub-adult GOEA was perched somewhere quite near and to the E of the OP this morning.  An electrical worker flushed the bird and surprisingly it continued S directly over the river into the canyon.  After that a few light-morphed RLHA came through.  Around 15:00 a couple of eagles came through, one sub-adult BAEA and an UNEA that Nate one of the ranger’s spotted.

It was another slow day for resident raptors too.  The adult light-morphed RTHA was spotted in Sheep Creek as well as the two adult GOEA.  Our resident adult BAEA was perched upstream in its favorite tree on a prominent west bluff of the Smith River for most of the day.

Non-raptor Notes

The first two Mountain Bluebird of the season were spotted perched along a fence line to the E of the OP.
